![]() ![]() No wobbling whatsoever and once I tension them with a shock cord, they ain't going nowhere. I also added some adhesive backed felt strips to the insides of the legs where they contact each other when nested. I was very impressed by the effectiveness of deadening of the loud ping when bumped against another stick or buckle.Ĭut a few sections of bicycle tire inner tube and slipped them over the buckles and cut a slit in them to relieve the tension being applied to the cam release. After applying the double sided adhesive sheets to the back of the fabric, I trimmed it up and applied it to the sticks. A quick perusal of their website and I saw that they actually named the material that they were supposed to be using, so I put the trusty digits to work and found some fabric by the yard, as well as some heavy duty pressure sensitive adhesive sheeting. In the video, the guy was using a product by a company called Stealth Outdoors to wrap his Lone Wolf sticks. I saw a YouTube vid that offered a number of tips to quieten a hang on and climbing sticks. ![]() This evening was spent applying sound deadening material. Gettin' em all dolled up and ready for the dance. Below are some pics, with a couple of photos of the issue I'm seeing with the bolt heads/threads contacting the stick below. Reversing the bolts should remove most of the gaps between them and allow me to secure them tighter. I would have liked it if they had put a little more thought into the design process for this area, but I think I can work around it. I intend to reverse the bolts in order to see if I can get them to stack closer. The hardware used to assemble them makes it a little difficult to get them to stack without wobbling or jostling around. I don't really care much for how well they nest together. No big deal for me, as I intend to wrap them in order to help silence them a bit. The finish on the sticks was marred a bit and had a few scratches from transit. According to the package label, they weigh in at 2.8 pounds each, but I'm thinking that this number may not have included the straps and buckles when they weighed them, as they seem to be just slightly heavier than that with the straps attached. The weight seems to be manageable although I haven't had the opportunity to put them on a scale yet to verify the weight. ![]() The sticks seem to be very solid construction. To add to stealth and ease of setup, a versa button silent strap setup has been added to each stick to limit noise during set-up and Tree-Digger Teeth bite into bark for added confidence when climbing. So the sticks arrived last Wednesday and I'm just now getting around to the unboxing. To create a streamlined package for transport the steps fold up and sticks nest tightly together with the silent lock technology suction cups. Dual sided Traction-grabbing steps offer unmatched stability on both sides when ascending or descending. The lightest, most portable climbing sticks on the market just made an improvement! The 20" Hawk Helium sticks offer the same aircraft-grade aluminum construction with weight-saving cutouts as the 30-inch section now in a 20" section and a scant 2.5 pounds per stick. ![]()
